The arithmetic mean values for papillary layer thickness, number of skin glands and their secretory area in calf bulls were correlated with arithmetic means for milk, fat and protein production within 100 days of lactation of their half-sisters of the same sires. A statistically highly significant correlation between the number of skin glands and the amount of milk obtained within 100 days of lactation had been proved
