Sowing value of stored seeds of three cereal crops under phytopathological aspect
1986
Narkiewicz-Jodko, M.
The sowing material under examination was grain of winter wheat, spring barley and rye harvested within 3 years, dried down to two levels of moisture contents and stored in the containers both with and without CO2 as well as in polypropylene bags for 3 years. Drying down the grain to 10-12% of moisture content and storing it in air-tight containers allowed of maintaining high germination capacity for 3 years. Storage of the grain in polypropylene bags has proved to be worse than keeping it in air-tight containers. The occurrence of specific species of fungi on the stored grain was dependent on its moisture conditions and time of storage. "Field" fungi (Alternaria, Fusarium, Drechslera) does not have any negative influence on germination capacity of grain
