In onion crops grown from seed the most common are two grass weeds: the Japanese millet (Echinochloa crusgalli) and the annual bluegrass (Poa annua). To control these weeds the herbicide is taken mainly by weed leaves causing their chlorosis. Afterwards growth inhibition of the aboveground plant parts and roots occurs. Studies on the degradation dynamics of this herbicide showed that both in onion plants and in soil Illoxan 36 EC is decomposed very rapidly
