In 85 buffaloes, Trypanosoma investigations were performed in Amphoe Muang, Pitsanuloke province area where hemorrhagic septicemia had occurred in October 1981. Twenty two buffaloes found to be Trypanosoma positive by using method of injection of buffaloes blood into mice. Most of tested buffaloes were healthy and had the history of vaccination against hemorrhagic septicemia. The buffalo serum was also tested for hemorrhagic septicemia immunity in laboratory mice. A herd of 37 buffaloes was randomized from the whole number. Twenty of them had been infected with hemorrhagic septicemia. Eleven of the 20 buffaloes were found harbouring Trypanosoma whereas the other 9 were negative. Meanwhile, 10 out of 17 buffaloes of the above herd which never have been infected with hemorrhagic septicemia were found positive for Trypanosoma, while the rest were negative. The statistical analysis indicated that it was independent between the existence of Trypanosoma and the occurrence of hemorrhagic septicemia (x2=.0544). And 14 out of 21 Trypanosoma-positive buffaloes possessed 100% of immunity against hemorrhagic septicemia after 1-2 months of vaccination
