Correlation of analytical method for exchangeable hydrogen in acid sulfate soils
1985
Kasemsi Sapson (The Vocational Education Department, Bangkok (Thailand)) | Sombhot Suwanwong
To clarify the knowledge of exchangeable hydrogen in acid sulfate soils, twenty eight soil samples were studied, with 1 N KC1 in ratio 1:10 and 0.5N BA (C2H3Q2)2 in ratio 1:26.6 as extracting reagents. The study indicated the correlation between these two methods with the correlation coefficient (r) of 0.78. So each of these methods could be used for exchangeable hydrogen analysis. The method of 1N KC1 was mostly used now because the more information about total acidity and exchangeable aluminum could be obtained but barium acetate could extract more amount of hydrogen ion than potassium chloride in acid sulfate soils
