Effect of nitrogen fertilization on biological componenets of sugar beet yield
1983
Juric, I. (Poljoprivredni institut, Osijek (Yugoslavia))
The field experiment was performed on brown soil (entric cambisoil) and included the following variants: 1) without fertilizers, 2) NPK, 3) 50% N+PK, 4) PK. Nitrogen fertilizer influenced the increase of the leaf mass, reduction of the relationship between the root and head with leaf, and reduction of digestion. The most pronounced digestion was observed with the PK variant, and the least pronounced one with the NPK variant. The production of sugar beat included considerable leaf mass and sugar beat heads of 17.37 t/ha on the average. The utilization of 80% of the mass, i.e. 13.90 t/ha, equals to the nutritional value of 2.03 t of maize.
