Ninety samples of complex (NPK) fertilizers used in Spain have been analyzed, as well as a reduced number of phosphorites, superphosphates and non-phosphoric fertilizers samples to be compared with the previous ones. In general, no detectable quantities of Hg have been found; Pb and Cd were present in variable amounts, the latter related to phosphorous content in samples containing phosphorites
