Reirradiation response of x-ray-induced mutant of roselle
1987
Shome, A. | Hazra, S.K. (Jute Agricultural Research Inst., Barrackpore (India))
Radiosensitivity depends on physical environment and biological factors such as maturity, embryo structure and size. The root were more susceptible to x-rays than the shoots, as the root showed root-tip burning, hardening, browning and decaying. The mutant was found to be more resistant than the parent. The frequency of chlorophyll mutation decreased with an increase in doses from 1 K.R to 4 Kg indicating different response of the genotype. Whereas, macromutations affecting qualitative characters were obtained only from the parent again, thus indicating a differential response
