To study the association of seedling vigour with grain yield and nutritional quality of seeds of sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (Linn.) Moench], seeds of 53 genotypes were sown in a randomized block design with 2 replications each under irrigation and limited irrigation. The correlation of seedling vigour with different characters under limited irrigated environment followed the same trend as observed in the irrigated plots, but the values of correlation coefficients were higher (except sugar content). Indirect selection for grain yield, lysine as percentage of protein and tryptophan as percentage of protein would be feasible on the basis of seedling vigour and that the seedling vigour as a selection criterion would be more effective for these characters
