The investigation deals with values of 5 liquid substrates for the production of spores of the Fusarium graminearum fungi. Liquid substrate with sucrose and basal mineral salts (SBMS) plus yeast extract and the application of shake is the best substrate for the production of spores of the F. graminearum and it is recommended for the production of the inoculum. The same substra1486te is the best in still growing. Justified differences have been determined in the maize hybrid resistance to stalk rot in the conditions of the artificial infection with spores produced on the substrate - SBMS + yeast extract. Artificially caused stalk rot has not significantly increased the attack of the natural rot and break of the st
