An experiment was conducted at the Sugarcane Research and Training Institute Farm, Bangladesh during the summer season of 1983 to study the effect of different levels of NPK fertilizers on the stalk and grain yield and percent recovery of four sweet sorghum varieties. Variety Wray-4 yielded highest stalk/ha (80.12 tons), where N:P(2)O(5):K(2)O kg/ha were used in the ratio 70(1):150:70. Highest grain yield/ha was produced by variety Rio (2.62 tons), where N, P(2)O(5) and K(2)O(1) were used in the ratio 75:160:75 kg/ha. Variety Mer 71/1 produced highest percent available sugar (7.85%), were 70:150:70 N:P(2)O(5):K(2) Okg/ha were used. Hence it is noticeable that different levels of NPK fertilizer have a positive response on the productivity of sweet sorghum.
