On the application of the domestic duck serum prealbumin phenotype to taxonomy

There are 8 kinds of serum prealbumin phenotypes in the domestic duck (Pa 1-1, Pa 0-1, Pa 1-2, Pa 2-1, pa 2-0, pa 2-2). They are codominant. In the developed breeds the one whose phenotype frequency is over 75% can be defined as variant but in the other ducks, the one whose phenotype frequency is below 75% can be regarded as a geographical population or an ecological population.
