Wood rotting diseases of cocoa (Theobroma cacao L.) caused by basidiomycetes
1981
Abdul-Karimu, A.
A survey was conducted in Ghana to evaluate the current status of wood rotting fungi in cocoa farms. The fungi include Armillaria mellea, Fomes lignosus and Fomes noxius. One of the fungi of genus Polyporus was identified in the eastern Region of Ghana where the rest of the known fungi were virtually absent. Its basidiocarp was annual, resupinate on emergence, poroid on the under surface, white initially but developed brownish colouration on the upper surface later, and became effused-reflexed
