Early hybrids from the 100 and 200 ripening groups can be successfully cultivated in the mountainous region of Kosovo (Yugoslavia). However, the limiting factor is the soil water content since the regime of precipitations is unfavourable. Early autumn frost (hoarfrost) is also a limiting factor at the height of over 850 m above sea-level. The increased quantities of mineral fertilizers have a positive effect upon the increase of yield.
