Performance trial of cigarette tobacco [in Bangladesh]

A trial was conducted at Tobacco Research Station, Rangpur. Significant differences were found among the varieties. The line BAR-2 produce highest leaf yield (2511 kg/ha) and was statistically identical with BAR-3. BAR-4, Chathum and FCV special. Lowest yield (1364 kg/ha) was produced by G.V. wilt. The variety Turkish Samsun produced highest no. of useful leaves (18) followed by DB-102, BAT-3 and BAT-4 which were statistical identical NC-2326 produced lowest no. of useful leaves (13).
