1989
Mortuza, M.G. | Shaheed, M.A.
Six fungicides viz. dithane m-45, cuprarit, votovax, anthracol, lirotect and tilt at 0.1% concentration of the spray solution were evaluated in controlling leaf blight of Barley eaused by Drechslera scrokiniana at Jamalpur, Bangladesh during rabi season of 1987-88 with a local cultivar. The plants were sprayed just after a few lesions appear and altogether 3 sprays were given at 15 days interval. Record on disease incidence was taken after 10 days of the third spray commencement and severity of the disease calculated using modified Cobb's scale (0-9 scale). Maximum disease reduction was observed in tilt treatment (4.0). Plant height, length of flag leaf, grain weight of 10 panicles, 1000 grain weight were highest at tilt treatment tilt treated plot gives 73.7% higher yield over control.
