The current study was undertaken to investigate the effect of GA3 application on growth, photosynthetic pigments and chemical status of Vicia faba plants (Koprossy type) under different levels of water supply. Increasing moisture depletion before irrigation decreased plant height, number of leaves, number of pods, dry matter/plant, Chlorophyll a and b content in leaves and uptake of P,K,Zn,Mn, Cu and Fe. Plant height increased as GA3 concentration increased. Dry matter content, number of leaves, number of pods/ plant and K, Zn, Mn or Cu uptake decreased with spraying 250 ppm GA3 and tended to decrease further with higher concentrations. Chlorophyll a, b and total carotenoids content were decreased with GA3 application. Plant height was increased when GA3 was sprayed at all levels up to 1000 ppm.
