Two experiments were carried out in winter 1982 and 1986 seasons at Kaha experimental farm, Kalubia Governorate to evaluate yielding ability, plant characters and seed quality of three okra cultivars namely Gold coast, White velvet and Balady, under cover and open field conditions. The results cleared that White velvet and Gold coast produced significant early and total yield compared with the Balady variety. Concerning plant characters of the different cultivars Balady exhibited higher values in plant hight, number of internodes and number of side branches than other tested cultivars. No significant differences were recorded in seed quality (weight or seed germination percentage).
