Application of the new Cotoran Multi herbicide to cotton plant (Gossypium barbadense L. cv. Giza 45) with rates of 8.5, 17.0, 34.0 and 51 ing/pot (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0 kg/fad., respectively) showed significant increase in dry matter of vegetative parts, total bolls, seed cotton and lint cotton yield. The 17.0 mg/pot (1 kg/fad.) gave the highest increase of those characters. Plant height, seed yield/ plant and lint percentage did not significantly increase at the herbicide application. Total count of microflora in the rhizosphere was decreased under the levels of Cotoran Multi. Nitrifier showed no response to the applied levels of the herbicide.
