Two field experiments were carried out during the two successive growing seasons 1983 and 1984, at the Faculty of Agriculture Experimental Farm Zagazig University to investigate the effect of stripping and topping of corn on LER and aggressiveness of corn and soybean when they were intercropped. The results indicated that stripping and topping treatments did not affect the Land equivalent ratio (LER) of corn and soybean when it was calculated for biological, ear and pod, straw and economic yields/fad. and number of grains/m2., the advantages ranged from 26-39, 33-46, 16-28, 32-51 and 32-48, respectively. The results of the combined analysis revealed that removing the leaves under the ear, above the ear and cutting the top significantly reduced the aggressiveness for corn compared with the check whether it was calculated for ear + pod or grain + seed yields/fad., and corn was dominant. This was opposite for soybean
