The marketing impact of food security situation in Ghana was assessed for 1975-1985. The inadequate and insufficient road network, and the poor post-harvest processes causing 47 % storage loss with 13 % for starchy staples and durable grains, are responsible for the insecure food situation. The government's guaranteed minimum prices do not affect production of food crops and their impact is negligible
