The effect of mixed infection of root-knot nematode and fusarium on two varieties of soybean (Glycine max (L) Merril)
1988
Okai, E.K.
Two varieties of soybean, 742 - 012 (susceptible) and 539 - 5E (fairly resistant), were used to study the effect of mixed infection of root-knot nematode and vascular wilt organism, Fusarium oxysporum f sp. tracheiphilum. The presence of both pathogens together in a single host plant increased the intensity of the disease. Test plants receiving mixed inoculation of fusarium and root-knot nematode showed severer symptoms than those inoculated with only one pathogen. Nodulation was suppressed in both varieties but more pronounced for mixed inoculated plants
