The water hyacinths (Eichhornia crassipes Solms Laub) were cultivated in the pig waste water, adjusted NH4-N concentration to 50. 100. 150. 200. ppm under the pot condition of within and without vinyl house and were also grown in anaerobically fermented pig waste water concentration of 150 ppm as NH4-N in 15 m** (2) cement tank. Optimum concentration of NH4-N in waste water for growth of water hyacinth decreasing tendancy of the NH4-N, P2O5, and COD in the waste water, and yield of water hyacinth were investigated. The optimum NH4-N concentration of waste water for growth of water hyacinth was 100 ppm. Yield, number of runner, leaf wide, ratio of bladder length per wide and flowering rate of water hyacinth were higher within vinyl house compared to without one. The nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium contents were higher in plants and more rapidly decreased in waste water within vinyl house than without one. Purifing power of waste water was greater in pig waste water than anaerobic fermented one. Yield of water hyacinths were amounted to 5.1-5.5 ton/10a on dry weight base. The removal amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium were 222.3Kg, 105.6Kg, 348.4Kg/10a in anaerobic fermented one. The water hyacinths contain lots of crude protein and ash with a little various amino acid
