A field experiment was carried out to determine the effects of stage (grazing, soiling and hay) at the first harvest and cutting height (1, 3, 6 and 9 cm) at the second harvest on the daily dry matter production and nutritive value of grasses, 1986 to 1988. Grazing stage at the first harvest showed good daily production, high digestibility, high contents of crude protein and crude fat, and low content of crude fiber. Also cutting height of 6 to 9 cm at the second harvest maintained vigorus daily production during summer and autumn, and low summer depression. Daily production in 1986 and 1987 were higher than that in 1988
