1988
Ramgiry, S.R. | Paliwal, K.K. | Tomar, S.K. (Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculturml Univ., Jabalpur (India). Dept. of Plant Breeding and Genetics)
The genotypic variability, heritability and correlations for different characters were measured in 21 lentil varieties at the livestock farm, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, Jabalpur in the 1982/83 season. The yield per plant, number of branches/plant, and harvest index showed high heritability with high genetic gain, making these characters valuable to breeders. Grain yield showed a high positive correlation with plant weight, number of branches/plant, number of pods/plant, and harvest index. Similarly, harvest index showed positive correlation with plant weight, number of branches/plant, and number of pods/plant. However, 100 seed-weight showed a negative correlation with number of pods/plant
