Captafol has been recommened for the control of leaf spot disease in the disease mangement programme. Since captafol has been found hazardous to humans, some fungicides were evaluated in order to replace the captafol. The recommendation for the control of this disease are seed treatment either hot water treatment (50 degree celsius, 20 minutes) or chemical treatment (iprodione at the rate of 4 g ai/Kg seed), followed by foliar application of iprodione at the rate of 0.5 g ai/1. water and/or its mixtures, applied at 10 days after transplanting and 10 days interval.
