This dendroclimatological study of the Turkey oak at Bab (Slovak Republic) located in the northern part of its natural distribution area in Europe indicates that no influence of low temperature to the tree-ring width growth was found. The primary limiting factor of wood mass increment was precipitation, especially the total precipitation of the 14-month period and both autumn and spring precipitations. The summer precipitation as well as the temperature characteristics were not significant. A statistical model of the tree-ring increment was developed and used for estimation of probable inner conditions of the tree species.
