[Effect of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium concentrations on nutrient solution on growth and yield of cucumber and tomato grown in sand culture]
1988
Al-Khafagi, B.G.S.
This experiment was conducted to study the effect of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium concentration on growth and yield of cucumber and tomato grown in sand culture. Results indicate that increasing the concentration of the three elements in nutrient solution increased significantly the plant height, number of leaves/plant, leaf surface area, also the yield and its components was affected significantly by elements concentration for both of cucumber and tomato plants. The percentage of total soluble solids and vitamin C in the fruits of tomato plants increased also by increasing the concentration of the three minerals in nutrient solution
