It has been recognized that the effects of soil erosion are not only in the reduction of soil depth but also in the loss of nutrients, organic matter, and through the latter, deterioration in soil physical properties. This has led to an integration between two aspects of soil conservation namely, erosion control and maintenance of fertility. Land-use systems based on agroforestry are towards this integration. Models of agroforestry systems are being designed which will minimize soil erosion and maintain or improve soil fertility. This paper presents the testing and results of a carbon model designed under the systems
