The effects of feeding casein, soyprotein of gluten on body composition of adult rats
1988
Radwan, H.
The effects of feeding high protein diets (35%) from either casein, soyprotein or gluten sources on body composition of rats were investigated. Results showed that percentage body fat was significantly higher in the casein than the soyprotein fed group. The results suggested that feeding casein leads to higher deposition of body fat, and increase fat cell size than feeding either soyprotein or gluten. This increase in adiposity could be due to the higher levels of insulin and fat absorption observed in the casein fed rats as compared to the other two groups of rats fed soyprotein or gluten
