This study was carried out to investigate the effect of transplanting date, ploughing depth, method of fertilizer application and water management on the growth response, yield and yield components of rice in different climatic locations, Iri and Kwangsan, in the Honam area. During the rice growing period, leaf area index was higher in Iri than in Kwangsan. Iri, at heading stage, was higher in treatment plot than in conventional plot in both locations, and the degree of the increase was higher in Kwangsan. Leaf area index at milky stage compared to the heading stage decreased less in Kwangsan than in Iri, in each variety. Dry weight of aerial part was higher in Iri than in Kwangsan during the growing period of rice. Iri, at milky stage, was higher in treatment plot than in conventional plot in both locations, and the degree of the increase was higher in Kwangsan than in Iri. Crop growth rate (CGR) was higher in Iri than in Kwangsan and in treatment plot than in conventional plot trough in growing period of rice, respectively. CGR of the treatment plot in Kwangsan from maximum tillering stage to reduction division stage was increased markedly, and growth pattern in Kwangsan was similar to that of Iri. The maximum distribution of leaf blade was lowered, consequently, light transmission ratio was increased in the treatment plot. The spikelets of plant was increased together with the increase of panicle in the treatment plot of Kwangsan. Yield was higher in Iri than in Kwangsan, but that of the treatment plot was increased 10, 15 % in Daecheongbyeo, 11, 9 % in Pungsanbyeo, in Iri and Kwangsan, respectively
