Many-year systematic application of herbicides on all crop rotation fields against the background of control reduced the number of weeds in the monoculture of barley by 46 per cent and in that of oats - by 26 per cent, whereas in the crop rotation the respective values amounted to 27 and 18 per cent. The direct effect of the Chwastox M herbicide at the harvest time manifested itself in an average reduction of the mass of weeds by about 70 per cent in crop rotations and by about 50 per cent in monocultures. Negative changes in the yield structure and in yielding of summer cereals depended to higher degree on the sequence of crops than on the weed control. Irrespective of chemical protection of cereals against weeds, an average decrement of grain yields in monocultures amounted in barley to 27.2 per cent and in oats - to 11.2 per cent
