A great number of extractans are used for the determination of soluble Cu, Mn, and Fe in soil. It should be pointed out, however, that there is still a need to develop the test and compare extractants for the simultaneous determination of "plant available" microelements from arable soils. The Cu, Mn, and Fe extracted by all extractants were not correlated with Cu, Mn and Fe content in leaves of corn (maize). Attemps to find a suitable universal soil extractant (s) for plant available Cu, Mn, and Fe were unsuccesful, but the investigation, with different extractants like chelating agents should be continued
