The investigations were based on 4 potato varieties: Ronda, Janka, Reda and Odra. The plots were arranged in 4 cultivation treatments for edible, fodder and industrial potatoes and seed potatoes. The agrotechnics adapted to the utilization kind was applied in every treatment. The Ronda variety was assumed as a standard for all treatments. In the varieties cultivated the total yield of tubers, its structure and the content and yield of starch were differentiated. The standard variety of Ronda distinguished itself with a high yield of tubers per hectare at the cultivation technology suitable for edible potatoes. In case when in the cultivation of edible potatoes the edible Janka variety; in that of fodder potatoes the fodder Reda variety instead of the Ronda variety was used, higher yield of tubers was obtained. Similarly when in the cultivation of industrial potatoes the industrial variety of Odra was used, higher yield of starch than in the standard variety of Ronda was obtained
