Occurrence, pathogenicity, biology and control of Coniothyrium fuckelii Sac. on roses. Pt. 1. Causes of the diseases affecting rose stems in Poland

The dying of rose stems, which causes much loss in greenhouses and fields in Poland, was observed. From diseases of roses, 16 species of fungi were obtained. In most cases, Coniothyrium fuckelii, Alternaria tenuis and Botrytis cinerea were isolated. In the glasshouses and fields, Coniothyrium fuckelii was isolated in 55.5 percent, A. tenuis in 14.2 per cent and B. cinerea in 14.6 per cent of cases. Also on roses from nurseries with symptoms of stem dying, C.fuckelii constituted 39.7, A.tenuis - 16.5 and B.cinerea - 20.9 per cent of the fungi
