Effect of TMTD and Captan fungicides on early growth of maize inbred lines

It has been studied to what extent fungicides TMTD and Captan can influence the early growth of maize with regard to the type and quantity of the applied chemical and maize variety. The examined maize inbred lines differed in their sensitivity to the fungicides TMTD and Captan, which was indicated by changes in the intensity of sprouting and number of sprouted plants. In laboratory conditions the examined fungicides intensified the growth of seedlings. Both fungicides induced changes in the ratio of water and dry matter content thus affecting the metabolism of seedlings. Application of the examined fungicides led to considerable changes in the seedling growth and mass, as well as in kernel metabolism and organ growth.
