Usage of Agrostemin bioregulator in malt production
1988
Bubalo, N. (Sladara "20. oktobar", Backa Palanka (Yugoslavia))
The obtained results show that the use of the natural bioregulator, agrostemin, in the production of malt enables better quality malt with a better degree of modification in relation to the control, which is especially the case if agrostemin is applied in the germination phase. Poorer results are obtained if agrostemin is applied in the steeping phase, while the application of agrostemin during storage does not have any effect on the malt. A combination of gibberelic acid and agrostemin added during the germination phase had an even better, stronger, effect with regard to the quality and the degree of modification. It was concluded that the natural bioregulator, agrostemin, is suitable for the production of better quality malt from bad quality raw materials.
