First experiences in the use of plastic sheets for maize sowing showed the following: plant germination occurs earlier and more evenly; the growth of vegetative parts of leaves, stalks and ears is faster and more intensive; taking root and the development of the root system is quicker; panicles and tassel appear earlier (in 15-20 days); cob fecundation is better; harvesting is earlier (15-20 days); the yield is higher by 60-90%, especially for later hybrids.
