Mamun, A.A. | Reza, A.
A study was conducted in the Dairy Farm, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh to explore the feasibility of growing fodder crop as inter/relay, intermixed and inter row crop without affecting the yield of main crop. In four separate studies maize was tried to intercrop in aus, wheat, mustard and lentil. The studies showed that maize might be grown simultaneously with these crops without affecting their yields with proper manipulation of the spacing of maize. Study indicated that maize and grass pea could successfully be grown as fodder relayed with transplant aman rice. Maize variety MAK-2 had the highest biomass production among the six varieties tried in the experiment.
