The effect of different NP fertilization rates (nitrogen: 0, 100, 200, 300 kg/ha; phosphorus: 0, 44, 87, 131, 175 kg/ha) on nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium absorption of cv. Mercado de Copenhague cabbage (Brassica oleracea L. var. capitata) plants transplanted on a Vilcun soil was investigated. In addition, at different NP levels the soil nitrogen content was determined. Materials and methods used were described on Part 1 of this study. Leaves and stem lengthening, phosphorus percentage increased as phosphorus fertilization increased. The same trend was observed in total absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium by the whole plant. The high leaves nitrogen content of cabbage and no response to nitrogen fertilization suggested an adequate N plants supply probably from mineralization of soil active organism fraction. Also, the inorganic nitrogen content of Vilcun soil profile was increased as the nitrogen rate increased and it was decreased in depth through the growth cycle. At different nitrogen levels the phosphorus recovery efficiency was decreased as phosphorus fertilization increased
