Zinc sulfate was applied to zorrect zinc deficiency in Prunus domestica L. at different times (fall, winter, green tips and bud burst) according to recommended rates. The evaluations were: trunk perimeter, visual symptoms, defoliation degree, fruit set and fruit drop, shoot length, fruit load per tree, fruit length and diameter, soil and leaf analyses. There was a positive response as to fruit volume and size in the green tip stage. In general and depending on the time of zinc application, it is possible to improve fruit volume and quality. On the other hand, the rates at certain times may result in an intense defoliation of trees
