Draft of a solution of cattle husbandry development in the Slovak Republic

The contribution deals with the analysis of the present situation in cattle husbandry, and the proposal of a concept of this production branch in the agriculture of the Slovak Republic in the period of transition to market economy. The development of cattle husbandry will depend in future on the development of cost rate, level of demand and rationalization of the entire branch. The reserves in reproduction process enable a reduction of the number of cattle which will have to be even more significant in the transition period, in view of market demand.
