Heterosperm insemination of breeding sows was performed using the semen of pairs of boars. A heterosperm insemination dose contained the semen of boars of the White Thoroughbred (BU) breed and of Compound Line CL 98n (Belgian Landrace /BL/ X Duroc /D/). The dose comprised a proportionate number of spermatozoa, identical for each boar in the pair. The testing of parents in fifteen blood-group systems and in three polymorphous systems of blood serum made it possible to determine in 187 piglets paternity and degree of heterozygosis (DH). The role of boar in litter was expressed as a percentage proportion of piglets after the boar on the basis of testing in the period before weaning. The genotypes of the pairs of parents did not influence directly the percentage proportions of piglets after the sires nor the numbers of all born piglets. The mean DH of all groups of piglets after WT boars was lower than in the groups of piglets after CL 98 boars. Within the litter after the pair of boars, a positive relationship was found between the DH of the group of piglets after the boar and its percentage role; this applied to all seven pairs of boars. These findings make it possible to estimate the boar in the pair after which a larger number of piglets will be produced
