On the plant site the dynamics of easily accessible soil water QLP was formed by the evapotranspiration and usable natural precipitation (without supporting capillary water in soil profile). Daily changes of the easily accessible soil water were measured according to the relation for the whole vegetation period of the plant. The natural changes of QLP were influenced by 4 irrigation doses per 300 m3/ha in 1972 and by up to 9 irrigation doses in 1983. The balanced soil profile was determined by the volume 500 m3/ha = QLP, i.e. of easily accessible soil water. The irrigation dose Md = 300 m3/ha was applied after the exhaustion of balanced soil profile. This enabled to include such precipitation into the balance. The practical application presupposed an automatic reading of daily precipitation totals and daily average atmospheric temperatures and their transmission to the computer which defined, on the basis of the programme worked out, the daily changes of QLP in the soil profile under the chosen plant and controlled the operation of irrigation throughout the whole irrigated area.
