Effect of different yield promotors on fattening results of young bulls
1990
Hollo, I. | Stefler, J. | Sarvari, B.
Hungarian Fleckvieh x Limousine x Blonde d'Aquitaine bulls were divided into three groups /one control and two experimental groups/ on the basis of their body weight. All three were fed with alfalfa hay, maize silage, green alfalfa and concentrate. The feed of the F and R groups was supplementes by 20-60 and 240 mg/day/animal flavomycine and monensine-Na, respectively. The controls did not receive supplementation. The animals were fattened in loose housing barn from 221 kg to 550 kg body weight. The voluntary feed and nutrient consumption of the animals decreased to the effect of the two yield promoters. The flavomycine rather decreased the concentrate, the monensine, the hay and silage consumption. Through flavomycine, more fodder could be spared to some extent. The daily feed costs were by 4 o/o more favourable among the experimental groups as compared to the control. The yield promoters improved feed utilization by 13-17 o/o and raised the performance by 10 o/o.
