The hog production of Hungary grew from an annual 1360 thousand to 2270 thousand between 1970 and 1986. This large number of animals require 10-11 million tons of concentrate yearly. The concentrate must be supplemented with protein concentrates. Their yearly need is about 0.8-1.2 million tons /550-650 thousand tons extracted soybean grits, 50-70 thousand tons fish meal, 40-60 thousand tons mixed animal-protein meal, 166-420 thousand tons extracted oil seed grits, 2-3 thousand tons of synthetic lysine, 1.8-2.2 thousand tons synthetic methionine/. The task of the future is to explore and use cheaper protein sources. The production cost of the fattening concentrates for raw poultry meat is less by 15-20 o/o than that of the conventional fattening concentrates. Feeding fattening concentrates with meat paste significantly decreases the production cost of the feeds. At their feeding one must take care on the residue-problem. The danger of salmonella infection can occur in pastes prepared from slaughter offals of aquantic poultry.
