The biological value, digestibility, net and productive utilization of extracted rape grits protein with a glucosinolate content of 128 umol/g was examined in a N-metabolism experiment on young rats. The seven semisynthetic diets were supplemented with iodine, copper, zinc and with their combinations, 5 fodder mixtures were compounded for pigs with extracted rape grits of a glucosinolate content of 98 umol/g on the basis of rat experiments. Besides the cereals, there were 12 o/o extracted soybean grits in the control concentrate present. In 4 experimental feed mixtures the main protein source was constituted by 10 o/o extracted rape and 5 o/o extracted soybean. The microelement supplementation consisted of 1 mg iodine, 250 mg copper and 150 mg zinc per dry matter kilogram in both the rat and pig concentrates. The biological value of the rape grits improved significantly as a consequence of the combinations of microelement supplementation. The soybean-rape of glucosinolate content supplemented with iodine + copper + zinc surpassed significantly the N-retention received by feeding of extracted soybeans. The productive utilization of protein was improved by the rape, supplemented with iodine by 7 o/o, with iodine zinc by 19 o/o and with iodine + copper zinc by 27 o/o.
