The constraints of farming systems technology adoption in the model farm expansion area of the Citanduy watershed was studied in 1988. This study was conducted to determine the technology adoption rate in the expansion area using available resources in the field and to identify the constraints in the farm. The results showed that the difficulties was to find the good seed. Only good corn seed had been used by most of farmers in this area. Another constraints was pest and diseases problems, that caused low production of food crops. The utility of manure was still limited since the population of livestock in the expansion area was still low. Cropping pattern technology was adopted by the farmer in the expansion area, but recommended bench terrace technology and grass planting were not adopted as well as cropping pattern technology. Information resources about farming systems technology for the farmers came from the extension worker, the farmer groups and the radio. Fund limitation, pest and diseases, land ownership, transportation to tegal or to the market, the less of skilled farmers, and land infertility were the constraints faced by farmers.
