Wood rot of tea is caused by Hypoxylon serpens. The pathogen invades the main tea stem or main branches rendering them either partially or wholly defunct. This study evaluates the effects of modes of pruning tea and fungicides application on wood rot. The normal and surgical prunes caused comperatively lower disease incidences while medium prune aggravated the incidence and severity of wood rot and reduced yields. Of all the fungicides tested, only Benlate significantly reduced disease incidence and severity
