Effect of air drying temperature and storage period on beta-carotene content in grass and maize meals

Grasses dried at 660 or 750 C and maize plants dried at 850, 900, 950, 1100 or 1150 C were investigated. The optimum air drying temperature for the maize was 900 C. No effect of applied air drying temperature on beta-carotene content in grass hay was stated. A decrease by 10 per cent monthly of beta carotene content in grass and maize meals during storage was observed
